Landing
a Bartending Job is like anything else in this world. That is,
you get what you put in to it. Every bartender knows that the
best way to get a bartending job is to knock on doors and network.
As part
of our curriculum, we'll give
you the basic guidelines to writing a resume, as well as handy
tips such as: the best times to go, how to approach the manager,
and what not to do. We'll also show you tangible steps
you can take in an interview to seperate your self from most
of your competitors.
You should
never trust a bartending school that "guarantees"
you a job. Like they say: If it's too good to be true, it's
probably not! Besides, even if a school sends you to a job...don't
you still have to interview? The answer is: YES, you do!
While it's
true that many bar managers are looking for experience, it is
harder for them to find people that are reliable. {Hint:
Show them that you are reliable!}
Some bartending
schools will try to convince you that they have exclusivity
to bartending jobs in your area. Typically, bar managers do
not keep it a "secret" that they are looking to hire
people. They want the best bartender that they can find. Did
someone say: Knock on doors and network?
There are
always bartending jobs available!
